eyebrow wax - brow waxing

May I say that I was in a new Ulta store in Las Vegas to get my eyebrows waxed. It must have been when this store was new because it still was very clean and in a new area. I must have gotten there when the store was about to close for the evening, there was one person working in the salon and it was the salon manager. She told me that she could wax my eyebrows and I sensed somewhat of an attitude, maybe because the store was about to close, I dont know. I got my eyebrows waxed and to my dismay, my skin was falling off the next day...the next time I got my eyebrows waxed (I did not return to Ulta because of the way I was treated) the person waxing my eyebrows asked if my skin had been "prepped" before my last wax, I did not know what that meant, I found out that it meant that there should be a liquid that is applied before a wax and a powder should be applied too to keep the skin from "lifting", as I was told. Well, the manager at Ulta did niether one of these things when I had my eyebrows waxed. I will never return there!

imakepeoplebeautiful, I had my eyebrows done at Ulta and had the same problem. I have sensitive skin, I told the salon employee and she said I wouldn't have a problem. The next day my skin blistered and peels off. It took a week for my skin to heal. So is it my fault or their's seeing as I told them I had problems with SOME wax in the past and they told me it wouldn't be a problem this time?

ACtually there could have been many reasons. Are you on ANY medication? Certain medications cause the skin to come off during a waxing because some medications cause the skin to thin and become sensitive. It's actually the customer's responsibility to inform the Salon Employee at any location that provides these services. But I guess to customers everywhere these days it's always everyone's fault but their own.
