    So I got hired when Ulta was opening a new store in my town, they promised me a part time job with between 15-25 hours a week. Well that was complete bullshit! Yea the first 2 1/2 weeks I had plenty of hours because I was helping open the store, but as soon as the store opened my hoirs got cut to 1 5 hour day A WEEK!   • Keratin treatment at Ulta complaint



    I received a keratin treatment at Ulta a month before my sisters wedding. I was assured that it would make my hair look healthier. I spent over2 hours at the salon and paid over $200 because the salon manager told me they could only "guarantee" the results if I purchased the Kerastraight shampoo and conditioner, so I did.     Used to enjoy going to Ulta for my beauty supply needs and decided to give the salon a try as well. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with the hairstylist at the Pearland, TX location.     I have frequented Ulta for years. There is one employee at the Brodie location in Austin that is consistantly rude.     I am very disappointed with the customer service at Ulta.com. On Friday I went to their store in Winter Park FL to purchase the Pur Minerals Primer they had on a BOGO sale.     I ordered from Ulta.com instead of going to the store because I was working long hours at work and thought it would be convenient. Couldn't have been more wrong. I never got my order, they never answered my emails, and when I called a second time and asked to talk to a supervisor, I was told no. A supervisor might call me back in the next 48 hours.     I went to the ultra salon in mt plesant South Carolina. It was by far the worst experience of my life. The girl I talked to instructed the girl doing my hair to dye it instead of outing bleach in it because I wanted to go a medium to dark blonde. My hair turned out bright orange and they charged me an extra $20 to put some Toner in it because they messed up.     I have just had the worst experience at the above salon. I requested a Brazilian hot wax but ended up coming out with half a job with bruises and sores. I had to go to another beauty place for them to finish the job. I have been waxing for 10 years and I have never ever had this problem before.     The ULTA salon on Opelika Alabama is awful. It is dirty, the staff does not know how to color or cut hair and they took no responsibility for the damage caused the caused.     The ulta on Barrett pkwy in kennesaw, ga does not give each customer the same attention. I have walked in several times and received no greeting unlike nearly every other customer in the store.     Over this holiday season my boyfriend went to ulta and purchased a clarisonic for me for christmas. ( Nicegift!) While ay checkout the cashier asked for my info so i could get the points on my ulta rewards card...nice!     I have gone to the salon at Ulta in Maple Grove mn for over a year now. I'm one if those people who get a haircut twice a year. But because of my experience with Amanda I've gone in for a cut and color every 6-8 weeks for the past year. Amanda is AMAZING. When she cuts my hair it always looks better than I'd expected. I was told that new customers could get one time cut and color for $51.00 as an introductory offer. I booked an appointment. when I got the bill they charged me $173.00. I pd. the tip before I got the bill (as you pay at the front desk and not in the solon). I was SHOCKED when I received the $173.00 statement. when I called them on it, I was told that the offer was good on MON, Tues, and Wed. only!! they DID NOT tell me that when I booked. the style was awful. I am a frequent shopper at Ulta in Huntingon,Long Island, New York and also get my hair done at their salon. On July 10th I was going to make an appointment wiht Paula who is my hair stylist, when I heard this women who had short blonde hair whom I never seen assume it was someone from your corporate she was yelling out Paula and degrading her which I found was so unprofessional... I felt so bad for Paula because not only is she an awesome stylist, she is a kind, professional and loving person. She goes out of her way for her customers.... that day I was so embarassed for Paula I just walked out and neve made my appointment... I hope you resolve this whoever did this to Paula... On July 10th I was going to make an appointment wiht Paula who is my hair stylist, when I heard this women who had short blonde hair whom I never seen assume it was someone from your corporate she was yelling out Paula and degrading her which I found was so unprofessional... I felt so bad for Paula because not only is she an awesome stylist, she is a kind, professional and loving person. She goes out of her way for her customers.... that day I was so embarassed for Paula I just walked out and neve made my appointment... I hope you resolve this whoever did this to Paula... Please attend to this

I went to the ULTA in Seal Beach, CA. It was the RUDEST customer experience I EVER had and I complained to the store manager. I came in for a simple purchase, eyebrow brushes. The woman behind the counter who I asked for help could barely be bothered with me. She told me where the ULTA brushes were but would not (heaven forbid) actually show me. I asked this same associate the price of an eyeshadow palette which she scanned and literally threw back at me on the counter. When I found eyebrow brushes, she gave me the incorrect price of the items. THEN she walked over to verify the price I saw near the items. I refused to be rung up by this snob and instead waited for the store manager. Beyond disgusted with this pathetic interaction!!

I went to my appointment at Ulta on Mother's Day Weekend where my stylist told me that I was getting a "Great Deal" and that I came on a good weekend. Well, long story short...I walked out paying close to double what I normally pay! He stated that I was getting a Mother's Day special which includes a Glaze, hair-cut and style for $55! Well, when he printed off the receipt, it was $115???????? What kind of Mother's Day Special was this? Then a manager called to advise the stylist was no longer there for my next appointment in which I told her I had no intentions of coming back because of the lack of communication of total price. I believe the manager wanted to make everything right, she even called the regional manager to ask if she could refund my $55, but the regional manager stated that 2 weeks has passed so that would be a "No"! Wow_ ULTA has lost my respect and business along with anyone I can tell. Totally not a fair way to treat anyone who was loyal to you.

I received a 20% off coupon in the mail yesterday from Ulta. Only to discover that it expired 3 weeks ago !! I called Ulta to see if they all had possibly been mailed out late, and she asked my zip code. When I told her my zip code, she replied that just about everyone in my zip code received the coupon after it expired. She said the Post Office legally does NOT have to deliver by any certain day because they are "bulk" mail. In any event, I couldn't believe she wouldn't honor it anyways. To make matters worse, it was one of the good 20% off ones that Ulta only sends out twice yearly, by "good" I mean the ones that don't have a million exclusions like their usual coupns do. What a racket.

ULTA! TERRIBLE customer service. I ordered $86 worth of Philosophy products so I could receive the free Philosophy gift with a $60 purchase. I placed my order and even though there was no code to enter it was supposed to be included in the order I called to make sure ( I have had enough bad experiences with not receiving what I have ordered). The customer service rep was very unprofesional and rude. She placed me on hold 5 times only to tell me "Well like we are out of the free gifts and we can not give you a refund" Of course I asked for the supervisor who agreed I would have to wait for the shipment and then return it and wait 2 to 3 weeks for my refund. I will NEVER order from this company again. Sephora has much better customer service.

I'm really surprised at all of these complaints! Personally, I've had great experiences at all of the Ulta's where I've shopped. The worst beauty experience happened when I was at Sephora. I was looking for a specific product the I had used before and went to sephora hoping I would find it there. When I asked the "store know it all" he said, "miss, I find it really hard to believe that a product like that actually exists, and I know a lot about makeup" I thought to myself, you don't know me - I couldn't believe he could just dismiss me, I certainly didn't purchase anything from Sephora that day, and have a really hard time going back to that store. At least at Ulta I know that won't happen!

First of all before I even share my (terrible) experience at Ulta, I see (& have seen other Ulta employees) on these review sites talking down to the people making complaints & how they don't want people like them shopping at their store anyway, which is a really, reeaaallly flawed company culture & pretty much explains everything about who they are as a company. Their reps are pretentious & snobby & spend more effort looking down on you and making sure you know how much more "elite" they are than you... even though they just work at a cosmetics store.. impressive.

I've always gone to Sephora to buy my makeup, but was in a hurry the other day & needed to pick up foundation quick before a Christmas party so I went to the Ulta close to my house. HUGE mistake, I needed someone to help me find the right shade & help me w/ the color because I never wear foundation & there were no testers. The ONE girl that does this was apparently on break & I was told she'd be back in 5-10 minutes.

Over 30 minutes later she comes strolling in, is extremely rude to me, tells me there is a 3 item purchase to have my makeup done for events (I didn't need my makeup done I just needed help matching the right color to my skin type.) Acting like I had just asked the world of her she walks off & is gone for another 5 minutes, I look across the store & see her with another customer sitting in a chair doing her makeup, mind you I've been waiting patiently for this woman for over half an hour, I went up & politely asked her how long it was going to take her to do the other woman's makeup because I had somewhere I needed to be. She very rudely told me "ummm, it'll just be like 10 minutes.." At this point I asked her if there was anyone at all that could help me find the right color, "uhh, I'm the only one on the floor.." Are you serious? I just walked straight out. It was without a doubt the most rude, condescending customer service experience I've ever had, I drove 20 minutes to the mall in December on a Friday afternoon just to buy from Sephora instead, who has perfected the art of customer service, as soon as you walk in there is a smiling employee who greets you and asks what they can help with, without even knowing if you're going to buy they sit you down and help you test out different makeup, very friendly & nice the entire time & they treat you like a human being, not a second-class citizen. You can tell they genuinely want to help their customers, whereas Ulta seems to go out of their way to be pretentious & snooty & make you feel like a moron because you don't know as much about makeup as them. This store does not care about their customers & they do not deserve your money. Go to Sephora, their products are better anyway & the experience won't leave you feeling livid & inferior.

how insecure that some employees are taking it personally. it is obvious the company has major flaws and they are responsible for the poor business practices. online complaints have little to do with 18 yr old girls"just trying to make a living". Call me crazy but when you order something online... it should come as promised... and if not, it shouldn't be charged to the customer cc.

HONESTLY PEOPLE, COME ON! THE GIRLS WHO WORK AT ULTA ARE MOSTLY YOUNG, INEXPERIENCED AND THIS IS THEIR FIRST JOB. IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT THAT PRODUCTS ARE OUT OF STOCK (COME WHEN THE COUPON STARTS IF YOU REALLY WOULD LIKE SOMETHING, OR EVEN BETTER READ THE COUPON START AND END DATE BEFORE VENTURING OUT, THEN, LASTLY, DO NOT HUFF AND PUFF AT THE CASHIER BECAUSE YOU DIDNT READ THE DATE ON THE COUPON. IT ISNT HER FAULT YOU DIDNT MAKE IT IN BEFORE THE COUPON EXPIRED, AND NO THEY DO NOT TAKE EXPIRED COUPONS).
ULTA HAS A VERY STRICT POLICY ON INSTYLE. ULTA EMPLOYEES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A CERTAN QUOTA AND IF IT IS NOT MET THE EMPLOYEE WILL GET IN TROUBLE. IT IS BEYOND ILLEGAL TO SELL A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD TO A COMPANY WITHOUT YOUR AUTHORIZATION. READ WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING PEOPLE. ULTA ISNT TRYING TO SCAM ANYONE; THE GIRLS ARE TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK AND MOST ARE PUTTING THEMSELVES THROUGH COLLEGE.
CUSTOMERS WHO COME INTO ULTA ARE BEYOND RUDE TO THE EMPLOYEES FOR THINGS EMPLOYEES CANNOT CONTROL (THEY CANNOT CONTROL OUR POLICIES; AS IN THE RETURN POLICY, NOR CAN WE CONTROL WHAT IS OUT OF STOCK (ULTA EMPLOYEES CANNOT PLACE SPECIAL ORDERS FOR THINGS THAT ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE). IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PRODUCT AND YOU LIVE FAR AWAY, GIVE ULTA A CALL, SOMEONE WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PUT YOUR PRODUCT ON HOLD. IF YOU REFUSE TO CALL, DO NOT YELL AT THE EMPLOYEES BECAUSE THE PRODUCT THAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR IS NOT IN STOCK.
FURTHER MORE, ULTA (AND THE US GOVERNMENT) HAS AN EXTREMELY STRICT POLICY ON THEFT AND RACIAL DISCRIMINATION. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN BECAUSE IF IT DID, THAT PARTICULAR ULTA EMPLOYEE WOULD BE IMMEDIATELY FIRED (AS DUE TO A LIABILITY TO THE COMPANY) AND CHARGES MIGHT BE PRESSED. ULTA HAS ONCE A MONTH MEETINGS ON HELPING PREVENT SHRINK FROM THE STORES AND REVIEW OF THE POLICY SO NO ONE IS CONFUSED.

NEXT TIME YOU SHOP AT ULTA MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THE EMPLOYEES. TRY TO BE NICE AND REALIZE THESE ARE 18 YEAR OLD GIRLS WHO ARE SIMPLY TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING. IT DOESNT SOLVE ANYTHING IF YOU YELL AND CUSS AT EMPLOYEES. ULTA TURNS OUT SUCH A LARGE PROFIT EVERYDAY THAT YOUR $65 IS MADE UP IN ABOUT .47 SECONDS SO IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE RUDE AND YOU ARE UNSATISFIED, THEN CHOOSE TO SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE (IT WONT HURT ULTAS FEELINGS, I ASSUE YOU).

I was forced to shop at Ulta after Sephora stopped carrying Cargo. I should not have assumed that the customer service and return policy would equal to that of Sephora's. Last week, I purchased my regular Cargo bronzer and picked the box corresponding with my row of color. It wasn't until I got home to use it did I realize I had a shade darker. Today I went to Ulta to exchange it for the lighter shade only to be told no exchanges or returns without a receipt. I exchanged items to Sephora many times without a receipt, no questions asked. I had unforutnately thrown the receipt away and was forced to buy a new one. Now I'm stuck with a $30 purchase I can't do anything with. I also found that the customer service is sub-par. I've been to Ulta only 4 times but all 4 times (that's 100%) I had to run around the store to find someone to check me out. I'll be shopping for my Cargo products elsewhere; after today's event I've just about had it.

This is in regards to Ulta stores being out of stock on products that are advertised in our flier, alot of the products that we carry are high end and pricey so when they go on sale customers rush in on sundays ,the day the sales usually start, and buy them. we always get a decent amount of whatever is on sale and there isnt much, as in-store employees, that we can do about it. Also, when products go on clearance its usually because we want to get rid of them so the fact that customers get angry when we are out of something that went on clearance isnt really our fault. you snooze you lose.

Horrible experience shopping at ulta.com and also with their customer service. I ordered a few products through ULTA.com, they shipped me totally different items. They have a mismatch with their SKU#s and products between the online site and shipping. There will be more of these mistakes unless they fix this issue. The sales slip shows products I ordered and their SKU#s. The packing slip shows the same SKU, but totally different products. I called customer service, they read from a script, told me they cannot help me. Took the items to an ULTA store, same story. Never again.

I had worked for ulta in the past. I had a great experience always treated very well.The managment team was great and all had worked for the company for many years. I now am a frequent shopper and love the store. One thing I would like to say is that its the same people who walk through life and complaine about everything and everydody. It starts in the morning hateing yourself, getting a bad coffee and then it begins. If its not Ulta your complaining about it will be another company. Start by changing yourself and the way you look at things. If you are negative you will receive negative no matter were you are or go. With the salon guests you will never like your hair because you don't like yourself. When your hair is not the way you asked for it instead of going home and complaining talk to the stylist about the issues< she would have been happy to accommodate you. This is something that happens all the time. I have been in retail for a long time and its always the same people trying to get everything for free and complaining about not saying hi fast enough, and seeing them the next day. Good luck and I hope you start looking at things in a positive way and will attract positive. So wake up in the morning and smile it will change your life.

I was at 680 barrett pkwy kennesaw ga 30144 ulta# 025 very cold to me every time i shop their which is often this will be my last time.I feel that they treat me as if i dont matter. I moved to this area 2yrs ago and have felt the cold treatment since I changed to this store want be back. I always buy BVLGARI will take my buisness away from their. Sorry
